Dorothy Parker lived a poisonous lifestyle, and didn't try terribly hard to hide it. She lashed out at her husband, and drank and played cards with the boys at the Algonquin. Her wit was scathing, and she wrote it all out on the page. Her poetry spoke of many different ways to kill oneself, and how it was simply too much of a bother to really do right.
