The assignment was to make a belt buckle. My original design for the buckle didn't turn out right, so I had to make it work! I was listening to Amanda Palmer at the time, and we were instructed to think about the context in which belt buckles were worn, why are they so large, why are they so large and so near the genitals? This piece is not in one piece anymore, but was made to be worn either as a pendant or a pin, with a hinged bail.
